Students walk past the camera and the register fills itself. Fees collect online, report cards print in one click, and parents know their child arrived before the first bell — all from one console, on one bill.
A register gets signed in bulk. A card gets handed to a friend. A face does neither — so the number on your dashboard is the number of children actually on campus, and nobody had to call out 1,200 names to get it.
01
Enrol once
Capture a few clear photos of each student, once. The school confirms parental consent before it enrols anyone.
02
They walk past the camera
A kiosk at the gate turns each face into a 512-dimension embedding and matches it against the enrolled student in milliseconds.
03
The register is already done
Attendance is marked, late arrivals are flagged, and the parent gets a check-in alert — before the child reaches the classroom.
Consent sits with the school. Face data of a minor is a special category under GDPR and needs verifiable parental consent under India's DPDP Act. Schools obtain it from parents before enrolling a face, as our privacy policy sets out, and card or PIN attendance is always available as a fallback.

Why schools choose us
Six reasons schools switch — and stay
Most school software is a database with a login screen. These are the things that decide whether it actually gets used by the office on a Monday morning.
Attendance that cannot be faked
Registers get signed in bulk and cards get swapped. A face cannot be handed to a friend, so the number on the dashboard is the number of children actually on campus.
Built for Indian schools
Rupee pricing, Indian academic-year handling, and UPI and card collection through your own gateway.
Live in an afternoon
Import students and staff from the spreadsheet you already keep. The importer previews every row first, so nothing lands half-finished. Most schools finish setup the same day.
Works when the internet does not
The admin console ships as a desktop app for Windows, macOS and Linux alongside the browser version — so the office keeps working through a patchy connection.
Consent stays with the school
Face data of a minor is a special category under GDPR and needs verifiable parental consent under India’s DPDP Act. Schools obtain it from parents before enrolling a face, as our privacy policy sets out.
One system, not five subscriptions
Attendance, fees, exams, report cards and staff records in one console, on one login, with one bill — instead of four tools that each hold a piece of the same student.
From signup to first register
Live before the week is out
No implementation project, no consultant on site for a fortnight. Bring the spreadsheet you already keep and start.
1
Create your school
Sign up, name your school, pick the academic year and set your grading. Takes about five minutes.
2
Import students & staff
Upload the spreadsheet you already keep. Every row is previewed and validated before a single record is written.
3
Enrol faces (optional)
Capture a few clear photos per student and point a camera at the gate. Card and PIN work as a fallback.
4
Go live
Attendance starts filling itself, fees start collecting online, and parents start getting alerts the same morning.
Runs everywhere your school does
One system, every screen
The office gets a full desktop console. Parents get a phone app. Both talk to the same records, so nobody is retyping a student into a second system.
For your office
The staff console
Admissions, attendance, fees, exams and report cards — the whole ERP, for principals, teachers and office staff. Run it in a browser, or install it so the office keeps working when the line drops.

macOS
Any modern browser — nothing to install, nothing to update
Windows 10 or later, one-click installer
macOS 11 or later, native on both Apple Silicon and Intel
Linux as an AppImage, no package manager needed
For parents & students
The mobile app
A parent signs in with the phone number already on the student record and reaches every child carrying it. Check-in alerts arrive as they happen, so the first thing a parent hears is that their child arrived — not that they never did.
iOS

Android phones and tablets
One login reaches every sibling — no separate accounts
Attendance history, fee dues and report cards, read-only
Every plan includes all of them — the desktop apps and the parent app are not add-ons.
Customer stories
What changes in the first term
Principals, administrators and office staff on what actually shifted after the switch.
We used to lose the first twenty minutes of every morning to the register. Now the attendance is done before the assembly bell, and I get a WhatsApp from three parents a week instead of thirty.
MKMeera KrishnanPrincipal · Greenwood International School, Pune
The fee module paid for the subscription in the first term. Outstanding dues used to be a spreadsheet nobody trusted — now the office opens one screen and knows exactly what is pending, class by class.
ADAnand DeshpandeAdministrator · Delhi Public Academy, Noida
What sold our management committee was how little changed for the staff. We run four campuses and needed the gate register to work the same way at every one of them.

Trust & compliance
Built for the rules you actually answer to
You are handing us children's records, and in some schools their faces. Here is precisely what happens to them — each of these is enforced in the code, not promised in a policy document.
Parental consent, held by the school
The school collects parental consent before enrolling a face, as our privacy policy sets out. Face recognition is optional — attendance works without it.
Written for DPDP and GDPR
Face data of a minor is a special category under GDPR and needs verifiable parental consent under India’s DPDP Act 2023. Face recognition was built with both in mind.
One school cannot see another
Every table carries a tenant and every query is scoped to it from the signed token, so campuses in one trust stay separated at the database, not by a filter in the UI.
Secrets encrypted, or not stored
Payment credentials are sealed with AES-256-GCM under a key only your server holds. There is deliberately no fallback key: without one configured, SchoolOrbits refuses to store the secret at all.
Your gateway, your bank account
Fees are collected through the school’s own payment gateway. The money moves from parent to school directly and never sits with us.
A non-biometric route, always
Face recognition is a per-school toggle, not a requirement. Card, PIN and manual marking produce an identical attendance record wherever biometrics are restricted or unwanted.

Questions schools ask
Frequently asked questions
The things that come up on nearly every demo call — legality, setup time and what happens to your data.
What is a school ERP, and how is SchoolOrbits different?
A school ERP keeps everything a school runs on — students, staff, classes, attendance, fees and exams — in one system instead of separate registers and spreadsheets. SchoolOrbits differs in two ways: attendance is captured by face recognition at the gate rather than typed in afterwards, and fees are collected online straight into the school’s own payment gateway.
How accurate is face-recognition attendance?
Recognition runs on a 512-dimension face embedding and matches against the enrolled student. Each school sets its own match threshold, so you can tune how strict the gate is. Where lighting or a mask makes a match unreliable, staff can mark the student manually and the record is identical.
Is facial recognition on students even legal?
It depends on where you are, and it is a question worth taking seriously. Face data of a minor is a special category under GDPR, needs verifiable parental consent under India’s DPDP Act, and is restricted or banned for students in some jurisdictions. Schools obtain parental consent before enrolling a student’s face, as our privacy policy sets out, and card or PIN attendance lets you run the rest of the system without biometrics at all. Confirm your legal basis locally before enabling it.
How long does it take to set up?
Most schools are live the same day. You create the school, import students and staff from your existing spreadsheet, and start marking attendance. Face enrolment adds a photo per student, which schools usually do class by class over a week.
Can we import our existing student data?
Yes. Upload an Excel or CSV file and the importer previews every row, flags what would fail, and only writes once you confirm. A downloadable template matches the expected columns.
Do parents need to install an app?
Parents use a mobile app to see attendance and receive check-in alerts, signing in with the phone number already on the student record — one login reaches every sibling. Staff need nothing installed: the admin console runs in a browser, with an optional desktop app for offices on unreliable connections.
How does online fee collection work?
Fees are collected through your own payment gateway account, so money moves directly to the school’s bank without sitting with us. You configure the keys once in settings; parents pay by UPI or card and a receipt is generated automatically.
Can we run more than one school on one account?
Yes. Every record is scoped to a school, so campuses in the same trust are fully separated — separate students, staff, settings and billing — while a group administrator switches between them from one sign-in.
What does it cost?
Free for up to 50 students. Starter is ₹999 a month for up to 300 students and adds fees, classes, staff and timetables. Pro is ₹2,999 a month for up to 2,000 students and adds face recognition, exams and reports. Annual billing saves two months, and paid plans start with a 14-day free trial that needs no card.
What happens to our data if we leave?
It is yours. Students, attendance, fees and exam records export to Excel at any time from the reports screen, and you can request a full export of your school’s data before closing an account.
Give your mornings back
Start free with up to 50 students, or take a 14-day trial of the full system. No card, no contract, and your data exports whenever you want it.
